Hello Members,
The parking lot is getting a facelift! The project repaves the entire back parking lot and the driveway between Moore Street Apartments and the Senior Center, addressing the drainage challenges we experience every spring during thaw. Please let the Fairbanks City Mayor know how grateful we are that the parking lot was chosen as a Community Block Grant project.
Volunteers needed. Volunteering is why your Senior Center has such a large impact on our community. As our pioneer population continues to grow rapidly, our funding does not, so we must come together to build safety nets.
Board seats open. The Board meets once a month, usually the second Thursday, to discuss activities, strategic plans, and current issues. Two seats are currently open — contact the front desk for an application.
Prep for winter: 1) get shovels out, 2) connect with a neighbor on winter yard prep, and 3) organize an offer to assist with snow removal. It takes a village to help our local seniors through the winter challenges.
